Frequently asked questions
Do I need to know my exact tenancy type before reporting a repair?
No. Report the repair and take urgent safety steps where required. Tenancy status can be checked separately when it affects the guidance that follows.
Does R2R give legal advice?
R2R provides information, guidance and practical tools. It is not a substitute for advice from a solicitor or other appropriately qualified adviser where individual legal advice is needed.
Can a checker guarantee my tenancy type?
No. The checkers are screening tools. Unusual, older or conflicting arrangements may need individual review.
Can I use R2R in all four UK nations?
The platform is designed to separate England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland routes because housing law and procedures differ.
How do I return to my existing case?
Choose My R2R Account, then select the service you used. Open its dashboard or secure area and follow its sign-in instructions. Avoid starting a fresh case if you want to continue existing work.
Will answers in a free checker become part of my saved case?
The public route finder and quick checkers are preparation tools. Do not assume their answers are saved to your case. Follow the saving instructions in the guided assistant or authenticated dashboard.
Where should I look for saved documents and evidence?
Open the dashboard for the service you used and look for its document, letter or evidence area. Availability depends on your service and package. Check that work has saved before closing the session.
What should I check before paying?
Check the package inclusions, total cost, access period and whether payment is one-off or recurring. Read the payment and cancellation terms shown before checkout. If these are unclear, wait until they are clarified.
Can I upgrade my package?
Use an upgrade option only where your account or checkout offers one. Check the cost and additional features before confirming. Do not assume a separate purchase will automatically transfer an existing case.
What if I cannot sign in?
Check that you have selected the correct R2R service and use the sign-in or recovery options provided there. Never send your password, sign-in link or one-time code to another person.
Can someone help me use R2R?
A trusted person can help you read the questions and organise information. Check every answer before submitting it. Keep control of your account and avoid sharing passwords or sign-in links.
What should I do if a page or document does not work?
Record the page name, browser, time and a short description of the problem. Remove personal details from screenshots. The Contact page is the intended support route; if no working contact method is displayed, support is not yet available through that page.
Is the Housing Provider Portal available now?
The Housing Provider Portal is in development. Its public page describes the proposed workspace; it does not currently provide access to a live provider portal.
Does using R2R send a letter to my landlord automatically?
Do not assume that creating a draft means it has been sent. Check the instructions and any sending confirmation in your journey. Keep a copy of what you actually sent and record the date and method.
